I went back to when Sam Pittman was hired, and boy, the takes (including my own) have aged horribly
The worst take was the one that said the entire SEC was laughing at us. There were definitely concerns about him being a first-time head coach, but nobody in the conference was laughing bc the entire SEC knew first-hand that Pitt can coach and recruit his butt off. He's respected by fans and high school/college coaches throughout the entire region.
