The 1970 team that went 11-1 was better than than the 1989 and 1995 teams that did it, and easily better than 1967, regardless of whether the Litkenhous System somehow rates them No. 1 for that season. Tennessee claiming the 1967 national championship is *almost* as bad as Bama claiming 1941. I wasn't around for 1938, but based on what they did, I don't think there's much doubt that was the best Tennessee team ever. BTW, what happened in '39 wasn't that Tennessee was disappointed about not being No. 1 and had a letdown in the Rose Bowl, it was that George Cafego, soon to be the top pick in the NFL Draft, was injured and ineffective against USC. Neyland's single wing as as QB-dependent as a modern spread offense, and without Cafego at full strength, UT couldn't beat a USC team that was also one of the nation's best.
Since he was only a freshman and since his suspension only applies to NCAA schools, couldn't he just go to a JUCO and play for 2016, and then transfer to whatever school he wants to and play in 2017 and 2018? Cam Newton took that route to another SEC school after he left Florida, I don't see why Grier couldn't do it too.
Vandy sells out anytime that they host UT, UF, UGA or Bama, even if they don't sell all of the tickets to their own fans. If they don't want the tickets, the visiting fans will happily come to Nashville. The only ACC team with a big following for football in Miami's division is Virginia Tech, and I don't even think the Hokies travel well enough to sell 50,000 or more seats in Miami. FSU and Clemson are in the other division and they don't play Clemson every year (and based on what happened last fall, they should be thankful they don't!).
Altering a legal document after it's signed is a criminal offense, is it not? Sound like to me that someone at LSU should be in a lot more trouble than just a civil lawsuit.
In light of how Driskel performed this season at Louisiana Tech, I would at least consider the possibility that part of his problems at UF were related to the coaching.
This is a very, very flawed article, for two reasons: 1. Let Tennessee play Iowa's schedule, and see what their record would be. Iowa's good, but I don't see any Sooners or Crimson Tide on the Hawkeyes' schedule. Not even sure they played anyone as good as the Gators. 2. Tennessee missed being the SEC East champion this year because a field goal sailed less than a foot wide right. If that kick is good, the Vols are in Atlanta on Saturday.
Looks like Albany, which is right next door. Couldn't have been many responses there. This isn't exactly scientific. There's no way that Kentucky is actually the most unpopular team in its own state, seeing as they have many more fans than Louisville does. And some of them are just plain weird--Fresno State is the most hated team in Hawaii, or Auburn is the most disliked by Alaskans, and why exactly would New Hampshire-ites have a particular enmity for the Florida Gators? In Kansas, they're probably all KU fans in the winter and K-State fans in the fall. Who knows?
