Hiring Kelly isn't the problem. It is the contract they gave him that is the problem. 10-years for $95 million. 90% is guaranteed at signing. LSU is stuck with Kelly and I think he knows it.
As much self imposed hype I'm reading, if he doesn't beat out Hurts, I can see the family moving on to another school. I think his dad is to proud to let him ride the bench until he is a Jr or Sr. They moved from Hawaii to Alabama, not exactly an improvement.
I can agree Alabama was fine before Kiffin, however, they became a dynasty when he showed up.
I have to think that Alabama and Kiffin all know he will not be returning next year. There has been no talk of an extension. Also, I do not think Alabama would win a bidding war. Alabama does take in more money, but they also spend a lot more.
