Florida has reportedly made a decision about its starting quarterback for the game against Florida State this week.

Gators QB Anthony Richardson expected to make his second career start following an injury Monday to starter Emory Jones, Zach Abolverdi of The Gainesville Sun reported.

Jones hurt his ankle in practice Monday and is doubtful for the Florida State game, sources close to the situation told The Sun. The extent of the reported injury is unknown, but it has kept him sidelined this week.

Richardson has taken the majority of the first-team snaps in practice this week.

Interim coach Greg Knox has said that quarterbacks coach Garrick McGee will call plays on offense.

Florida fans have clamored for Richardson to get more playing time this season, and this would be Richardson’s second start. He rallied Florida with 4 straight touchdown drives off the bench against LSU, and then got the start against Georgia.
