ESPN reporter tells Paul Finebaum that Florida coaches are impressed with QB Feleipe Franks
When the Florida Gators landed graduate transfer QB Malik Zaire from Notre Dame this offseason, it was assumed he’d take over the starting job for the 2017 season.
However, redshirt freshman QB Feleipe Franks isn’t going to go down without a fight, and is drawing rave reviews as fall camp approaches.
According to ESPN reporter Ed Aschoff, who appeared on The Paul Finebaum Show on Tuesday, Florida coaches and players have been very impressed with Franks as he competes with Zaire:

Coach Jim McElwain has yet to officially name a starter, so Franks is still in the running to earn the job.
If he can continue to impress when training camp officially begins, it’s possible he could be the one under center when the Gators take the field for their Week 1 matchup against Michigan.
