ESPN’s FPI is projecting the full results of the 2023 college football season, and the system has predicted every game on Florida’s schedule.

The Football Power Index is higher on Florida than the college football media, ranking the Gators No. 18 entering the 2023 season. The Gators were not ranked in the preseason Coaches Poll or Associated Press Top 25.

UF will be playing many Top 25 teams. In addition to annual meetings with Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, Florida State and others, the Gators open the season against Pac-12 champion Utah.

The Gators are entering Year 2 under Billy Napier. Last season, Florida managed to earn bowl eligibility but ended the season on a 3-game losing streak with losses to Vanderbilt, FSU and Oregon State, finishing below the .500 mark.

The FPI ranks Florida’s schedule as the second-toughest in the nation. The Gators are favored in 8 contests, but there are some toss-ups in the ESPN Analytics projections. Here is Florida’s chance to win in every game, according to the FPI:

  • Aug. 31 at Utah – 32.1% chance to win
  • Sept. 9 vs. McNeese – 98.7%
  • Sept. 16 vs. Tennessee – 51.1%
  • Sept. 23 vs. Charlotte – 94.7%
  • Sept. 30 at Kentucky – 48.7%
  • Oct. 7 vs. Vanderbilt – 87.6%
  • Oct. 14 at South Carolina – 57.3%
  • Oct. 28 vs. Georgia – 16.7% (game in Jacksonville)
  • Nov. 4 vs. Arkansas – 63.7%
  • Nov. 11 at LSU – 21.7%
  • Nov. 18 at Missouri: 56.8%
  • Nov. 25 vs. FSU – 50.1%
