Evan McPherson hit a field goal and and an extra point in the first half, and then came out of halftime and connected on another field goals. So watching the halftime performance with some of the all-time greats of hip-hop and rap must not have had much of an impact on him.

The Cincinnati Bengals kicker was caught by NBC cameras watching the halftime show, and apparently didn’t go to the locker room during halftime, as he elected to watch the show on the field.

It was quite the show, and it featured Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent along with the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul herself, Mary J. Blige at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The 5 artists not including 50 Cent, who was a surprise guest, have combined for 43 Grammys and have created 22 No. 1 Billboard albums.

It was a California homecoming for several of the artists. Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar are from Compton, while Snoop Dogg is from Long Beach.

McPherson’s move wasn’t a surprise, because he hinted at it before the Super Bowl.

“I’ll be super bummed if we can’t at least watch it on a TV or something,” McPherson told TMZ before the game. “I hope I get to watch it. I hope I get to be out there to experience it.”
