Florida’s 2024 recruiting class has been taking some hits this week.

The Gators lost a pledge from 4-star defensive lineman Nasir Johnson on Wednesday. Johnson immediately flipped to Georgia, making him the 3rd recruit Florida has lost since since Saturday.

Previously this week, Florida also suffered decommitments from 4-star EDGE Jamonta Waller and 4-star cornerback Wardell Mack. Both Waller and Mack also flipped their commitments immediately, moving to Auburn and Texas, respectively.

This string of decommitments is a bit alarming for the Gators. Florida still has an elite recruiting class with a little more than a month to go before the Early Signing Period, but it’s never good to lose 3 blue-chip prospects in the span of just a week.

Florida’s 2024 class is now down to 19 commitments. The group is ranked No. 5 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Are more decommitments on the way? The answer to that question is currently unclear. However, it’s worth noting that Florida’s top-ranked commit, 4-star DL LJ McCray, took a visit to Florida State in Week 11.

The Early Signing Period is scheduled to begin on Dec. 20.

Florida will go on the road to face Missouri in Week 12.
