One of Florida’s all-time Gator greats is returning to Gainesville on Saturday. Emmitt Smith has confirmed he will be attending the Florida vs. Auburn game.

Back in July, Smith’s son, class of 2020 recruit EJ Smith, announced that he would be visiting UF for the homecoming game. It appears those plans are still on as Emmitt responded to a Gators fan on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” will broadcast from UF campus on Saturday morning. The show has not yet announced a celebrity guest picker. Emmitt’s former Dallas Cowboys teammate Michael Irvin was the guest picker from Orlando for the special Week 0 game between Florida and Miami.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer and all-time NFL leader in rushing yards was also in attendance in 2015 when Florida hosted then-No. 3 Ole Miss. The Gators, ranked No. 25 at the time, upset the Rebels 38-10.
