Feleipe Franks is having a fantastic season under first-year head coach Dan Mullen, as the Florida quarterback will surpass last year’s passing yardage total on Saturday afternoon against Georgia and has already thrown for more touchdowns than he did in 2017.

He’ll need to have his best game of the year, though, if the Gators are going to take down rival Georgia on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday morning, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit joined SportsCenter and talked about Franks’s improvement, adding that Florida needs to hit some deep shots against the Bulldogs:

“The personality of Dan Mullen helps that,” he said. “Feleipe Franks had to do a lot in last year’s offense. … Georgia is fired up after the loss to LSU. Florida’s going to need to be more balanced. Florida is going to have to take some shots down the field.”

Franks has only hit 16 passes of 20 or more yards this season — good for 10th in the SEC. We’ll see if he can change that on Saturday.
