The New York Mets are getting spring training started, which means former Florida QB and current SEC Network analyst Tim Tebow will resume his minor league career.

Tebow ended last season with the Class A Port St. Lucie Mets, but he could advance even further this spring and summer.

In fact, on Sunday, Mets GM Sandy Alderson made a bold proclamation, saying he believes Tebow will someday play in the majors:

Tebow hit .226 with eight home runs and 52 RBI between Columbia and Port St. Lucie last season, so he still has a long way to go before he’s ready for the big leagues.

Still, his stint with the Mets is seemingly mostly for publicity (though his baseball stats are certainly impressive for someone who hasn’t played since high school), so it’s possible he could see some MLB action at some point.
