If you’re a high school football player with the goal of winning a national championship in college, you should follow the advice of Tim Tebow and go play for Ohio State. Wait, what?

The Buckeyes’ official Twitter account posted a graphic Tuesday featuring two photos of Tebow accompanied by a quote praising Urban Meyer.

Coaches boasting about players they have coached at other schools is nothing new to recruiting, but there’s some definite irony in using Tebow to promote winning a championship at Ohio State. The former Heisman Trophy winner has two national championship rings, with the first being won in the 2006 campaign which was capped off by a 41-14 victory for the Meyer-coached Gators over Ohio State. Tebow was not only on the 2006 team, but actually a key contributor in the BCS Championship Game, scoring two touchdowns (one passing, one running).

What’s next for Meyer? Using an image of Joe Haden to proclaim OSU as DBU?

Judging by the latest 247Sports recruiting rankings, which has Ohio State with the top class for 2017, the Buckeyes aren’t having many problems landing commitments without using former Gators.
