It’s been some time since Percy Harvin suited up in the NFL but the former All-SEC receiver from Florida is interested in making another run at playing at the game’s highest level.

Harvin last played in the NFL back in 2016, and he only appeared in two games that season after appearing in just five games the previous season — both with the Buffalo Bills, but is in shape and training for a potential comeback to the league.

However, the main thing standing in Harvin’s way may not have anything to do with his layoff. The 2020 NFL Draft is loaded with receiver talent, which teams will take advantage of and not have to hand out a ton of money to rookie receivers, there are other notable veterans still in the market searching for jobs and, of course, teams can’t workout players or give physicals due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite those obstacles, Harvin tells Josina Anderson of ESPN that the “timing is right” for his comeback.

“I’m ready to return to the NFL,” Harvin said. “I thought I was done, but that itch came back. I’ve been training with a former Olympian. My body is feeling good. Mentally I’m better. My family is good. The timing is right.”

During his NFL career, Harvin caught 353 passes for 4,026 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also rushed for 927 yards and five scores and returned 152 kicks for 4,127 yards and another five touchdowns.

Here’s a video of Harvin hard at work, eager to prove he is in shape and motivated to make a comeback just before his 32nd birthday.
