Rece Davis and Stanford Steve discussed the Tennessee-Florida game on this week’s episode of the College GameDay podcast. Both justified taking Florida plus the points in the matchup.

The Volunteers have not won in The Swamp since 2003. Tennessee is favored by 6.5 points over Florida. While Davis doesn’t know if Florida will win, he still is planning on taking Florida in the points.

“Sometimes you have to do something for zero reason, right? Sooner or later Tennessee’s gonna win in The Swamp. They haven’t won since 2003. Gotten off to a bit of a slow start and Florida looked abysmal. Not because isn’t better than them, they are. Florida looked sloppy, but if you’re gonna do anything this season this is gonna be it. If you’re gonna stand in there, you might as well stand in against your rival. I’m gonna take Florida in the points. I don’t know if they’re gonna win the game.”

Stanford Steve agreed with Davis’ decision. He doesn’t believe Joe Milton and the offense will do enough to win by more than seven.

“I agree, I love that situation for Florida. It’s been ugly, but when I go back and look at Florida recently with Utah at (-5.5), I wasn’t expecting much at all. They moved the football. The mental mistakes of 4th-and-1 three times really cost them. With that home crowd in The Swamp, the combination of Tennessee not looking right offensively. Is Joe Milton gonna go into Gainesville and win by more than a touchdown? I’m gonna say no.”

Do you agree with their picks? Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
