Nick Saban and Alabama poached Florida assistant Sal Sunseri Friday afternoon. Sunseri coached the defensive line for the Gators, and his son, Vinnie, is now a graduate assistant at Alabama. So, the move wasn’t a complete surprise.

Now, with an open position on staff, Mullen is already targeting Chris Wilson, the defensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, per FootballScoop. Reports have surfaced that the Eagles did not renew Wilson’s contract for 2019, and Florida could be the perfect landing spot for the long-time veteran.

Wilson coached with Mullen at Mississippi State. He was the Bulldogs defensive line coach and defensive coordinator in 2011-12 before he left to coach the defensive line position at Georgia in 2013 under then-coordinator Todd Grantham. Following his one-year stint at UGA, he coached at USC for two years. The Eagles then hired Wilson in 2016.

Wilson has coached 23 years at the collegiate level, and having already coached under Mullen and Grantham, this move would make a ton of sense.
