Report: Florida CB arrested following argument with his girlfriend
A Florida defender is facing legal trouble after he was arrested for an incident that took place on Monday night.
Per Florida insider Robbie Andreu, junior CB Brian Edwards has been arrested following an argument with his girlfriend that took place at his apartment.
Per Andreu’s tweet, Edwards faces a charge of simple battery (date violence) following the incident:
Florida junior cornerback Brian Edwards was arrested Monday and charged with simple battery (date violence) following an argument with his girlfriend in his apartment.

According to a GPD arrest report, Edwards and his girlfriend of two years got in an argument and as she attempted to leave the apartment he grabbed her by the neck.

The victim had marks on her neck and a scratch on her shoulder, according to the police report.

According to Andreu, the simple battery charge is a misdemeanor under Florida law:

Edwards appeared in eight games in 2018, mostly on special teams. He recorded seven tackles, had four pass breakups and also recovered a fumble. In 2017, he appeared in 10 games, also primarily on special teams.
