The 2017 season was a bad one for former Florida RB Matt Jones, as he was waived by the Washington Redskins — the team that drafted him in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He was then claimed by the Indianapolis Colts and spent the year fluctuating between the active roster and the waiver wire, recording only five carries for 14 yards.

Now, though, Jones has a new NFL home, as Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the ex-Gator would sign with the defending Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles:

In 2016, with the Washington Redskins, Jones carried the ball 99 times for 460 yards and three touchdowns in a backup role.

He’ll serve as a backup in Philadelphia too, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can start to turn his career around.
