Colorado State to hire former Florida assistant under Urban Meyer as next head coach
UPDATE: Colorado State has confirmed Steve Addazio’s hire.
Steve Addazio has reportedly landed a new gig. Multiple reporters are saying that the former Boston College head coach will be the new head coach at Colorado State.
Addazio was fired by Boston College after the Eagles went 6-6 in 2019. BC was an even 44-44 in seven seasons under Addazio. Prior to Boston College, Addazio was the head coach at Temple for two seasons (13-11).
FootballScoop recently reported that Urban Meyer was advising CSU on its search. Addazio was an assistant under Meyer from 2005-10, starting as a tackles and tight ends coach (2005-06) before becoming the assistant head coach and offensive line coach (2007-08) and then the offensive coordinator (2009-10).
CSU fired Mike Bobo after going 28-35 in five seasons (2015-19). Bobo is now the offensive coordinator at South Carolina.
