Part of the fun of being the defending national champion is getting everyone’s best shot the next time around. LSU went 15-0 last season, including 8 SEC wins over the 6 other SEC West teams, permanent cross-division rival Florida, SEC East rotational opponent Vanderbilt and SEC Championship opponent Georgia.

LSU has already faced 6 “revenge games” in 2020 (8 if you count non-annual opponents South Carolina and Missouri). The Tigers can expect another revenge-minded opponent when they come to Gainesville on Saturday.

Opposing fan bases enjoy mocking “the chomp” when facing Florida. LSU fans had a lot of taunting Florida with mock chomps a year ago in Baton Rouge.

Gators defensive tackle Kyree Campbell retweeted a video from 2019 of LSU fans chomping and chanting “it sucks to be a Florida Gator.” The senior defensive lineman added, “Lol we haven’t forgotten” in his Sunday quote-tweet.

After missing Florida’s first three games, Campbell has recorded 23 tackles, including 2.5 TFL and 1.5 sacks, in Florida’s last six games.
