One of the bigger breaks Kentucky received Saturday in its upset win at Florida was on a field goal attempt.

Kicker Evan McPherson appeared to sneak a kick inside a goalpost, but the officials ruled it was a missed 36-yard attempt. But the SEC office has said it will not comment on the play, and referred to the rulebook, which 247Sports referenced.

You can watch the video replay here.

The Orlando Sentinel’s Edgar Thompson shared the news.

From the Section 3 of the NCAA rule book on the use of replay: “Reviewable plays involving a potential score include: … Field goal attempts if and only if the ball is ruled (a) below or above the crossbar or (b) inside or outside the uprights when it is lower than the top of the uprights. If the ball is higher than the top of the uprights as it crosses the end line, the play may not be reviewed.”

The score was 21-10 at the time of the field goal attempt, and Kentucky ultimately won 27-16 to snap a 31-game losing streak in the series.
