Steve Spurrier says he doesn’t want to see Mike Leach at a Florida rival

When it comes to designing and calling plays on offense, Steve Spurrier and Mike Leach are two of the all-time greats. It’s not surprising to learn that the HBC thinks highly of Leach.
On Saturday, Spurrier paid Leach one of the highest compliments a coach can receive from a Gator perspective.
“Somebody’s going to hire Mike Leach soon. Let’s just hope it isn’t FSU,” Spurrier told reporters in Gainesville this weekend.
It’s obviously premature to say Leach will be hired away from Washington State, but it’s fair to assume Leach will be linked to many open jobs once the coaching carousel starts spinning again.
Spurrier seems to be enjoying Florida State’s struggles under Willie Taggart. The HBC recently joked that a reporter should tell her father, a Seminole fan, that Taggart deserves a 10-year extension. Taggart is 7-9 so far at FSU.
