Georgia’s 2019 recruiting class has now lost three commitments this week.

The latest comes in the form of 4-star LB JD Bertrand. Bertrand (Roswell, Ga.), who had been committed to UGA since July 15, 2017, decommitted Friday night. Bertrand is ranked as the nation’s No. 16 OLB and the state of Georgia’s No. 34 overall prospect for the class of 2019, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect shared his decommitment via Twitter, saying, “After much prayer and consideration, I have decided to de-commit from the University of Georgia,” Bertrand said, via his personal Twitter account. “Thank you to Coach Smart, Coach Schumann, the UGA staff, and the fans for their support throughout my high school career. I will be reopening my recruitment. I will not be doing any interviews at this time. Thank You.”

Bertrand is set to visit Florida Saturday for the LSU game.

Five-star WR Jadon Haselwood decommitted from Georgia Tuesday night, and 4-star CB Jalen Perry announced his decommitment Thursday.

Following Bertrand’s decommitment, Georgia now has 16 prospects verbally committed for the class of 2019.
