While all eyes are on Georgia QB Justin Fields and his impending transfer decision, TE Luke Ford also has a decision to make.

Ford went back home to Illinois and missed some Sugar Bowl prep and practice time. He did return to the team and traveled to the Sugar Bowl.

Following the 28-21 loss to Texas, reporters caught up with Ford and asked him about his future plans.

“I’m pretty sure I can stay at UGA for sure,” Ford told the Athens Banner-Herald’s Marc Weiszer. “Maybe I can leave. I just want to be able to talk and find out my options.”

When pressed further, Ford indicated the main reason for his potential transfer, as well as the destination: Illinois.

“Closer to family and my grandpa that’s sick,” Ford indicated. “He wants to see me play and I want to play in front of him.”

The Carterville, Illinois, native was the No. 3 ranked TE and the nation’s No. 45 overall prospect for the class of 2018, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
