Brock Bowers limped off the field in the first half against Vanderbilt, went to the injury tent and later the locker room.

Coach Kirby Smart offered the latest in a halftime interview with CBS Sports.

“He was good, he’s in good spirits,” Smart said. “He’s got a little bit of an ankle sprain on the bottom part of foot, but he thinks he’ll be fine, then went to go X-ray it and check it out.”

Smart had a simple message after a slow start, but Georgia got an interception and a late touchdown to get back on track.

“Try to do it again in the second half,” Smart said.

Bowers was visited by medical personnel and limped off the field into the medical tent on the Georgia sideline. He pounded the turf soon after the injury, which came with 11:27 remaining on 1st down and 10 from the Vanderbilt 25-yard line.

Georgia led 24-7 at halftime.
