Georgia gets creative to send message to 5-star uncommitted prospect
Georgia is on the hunt for a barber. Not just any barber will do, however, Kirby Smart is after a five-star barber.
Recruiting fans should be well aware of the name Xavian Sorey, as the five-star defender is one of the nation’s top prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle.
The Graceville, Fla., native is currently spending his senior season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and his recruitment is nearing an end with the Early Signing Day quickly approaching.
If you were unaware, the Early Signing Period begins on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
With his decision pending, the five-star prospect is down to a trio of SEC programs as Alabama, Florida and Georgia are all hoping to land the IMG Academy standout. According to 247Sports Composite Rankings, Sorey rates as the No. 1 outside linebacker and the No. 20 overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle. He is planning to enroll early and sign with his school of choice during the Early Signing Period.
One more thing to note, Sorey goes by “the Barber.”
With Kirby Smart’s program in pursuit of the five-star defender, it can’t be a coincidence that the Georgia coach just tweeted a video featuring assistants Glenn Schumann, Dan Lanning and Scott Cochran discussing the need for the Bulldogs to find a barber.
