Desmond Howard understands how big of a role Brock Bowers played on the Georgia offense before the ankle injury.

Howard appeared on Sportscenter Friday afternoon to talk about the ramifications of the injury.

The question will be how the offense moves forward now that Bowers is out for the foreseeable future. First-year starter Carson Beck used Bowers as a safety valve and will now have to find others to fill that void as well.

“That’s the $1 million question going into this game, and the following games too, because they’re going to be without Brock Bowers for at least 4-6 weeks. He’s not only the best player on the team, Carson Beck, the first-year starter, he was his security blanket. He was a guy when things weren’t going well, he would look for Brock Bowers. Now you take him out of the offense, you have to wonder, what are they going to do to get the big play. Who are they going to look for?”

Howard is curious to see how the injury changes how the Florida defense too. Bowers drew a lot of attention as one of the top wideouts for Georgia.

Lasty, Howard was curious to see how Beck will adjust.

“And then the other thing, when Brock Bowers is on the field, he requires a lot of attention. Now that he’s not going to be on the field, very, very curious to see how the Florida Gators’ defense plays Georgia’s offense,” said Howard. “So a lot at stake tomorrow when these 2 teams meet. But because of the absence of Brock Bowers, I’m really curious to see what Carson Beck is able to do offensively.”

What should Georgia do without Bowers in the lineup?
