Former Georgia OL Isaiah Wynn is on the move. After spending his first 5 seasons with the New England Patriots, he’s heading to an AFC East rival.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports that Wynn is signing a 1-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. Rapoport relays that Wynn has been patient about finding the right fit.

Following a standout finish to his Georgia career with first-team All-SEC recognition, Wynn was selected No. 23 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. The injury bug limited Wynn in his time with the Patriots to 43 games (40 starts) over the last 4 seasons.

Wynn tore his Achilles tendon in the second game of the 2018 preseason. He was ruled out for the regular season. As a member of the Patriots, Wynn still received a Super Bowl ring for New England’s championship.

In 2019, Wynn dealt with a toe injury and played in 8 games. Wynn started 10 games in 2020 before suffering a knee injury in Week 11 that placed him on injured reserve.

Despite the injuries, the Patriots picked up Wynn’s 5th-year option in May 2021 ahead of his 4th season. He would go on to play 16 games that fall. This past season, Wynn played in 9 games, landing on injured reserve in December.

Hopefully, Wynn can stay healthy for the Dolphins in 2023.
