Georgia suffered its first loss of the season last weekend, losing 40-17 at Auburn and falling from the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings.

However, the season is still far from over for the Bulldogs, who still have a legitimate chance to make it to the Playoff by winning out.

That won’t be easy, as games against Kentucky, Georgia Tech and either Alabama or Auburn remain on the schedule. On Wednesday, though, LB Lorenzo Carter said the loss to the Tigers was tough, but added that there’s no time to be down in the dumps (via Rivals.com):

“It was tough, putting all the work that we put in and not getting the results,” Carter said. “We’ve just got to respond. I think we’ve responded well this week in practice to make sure everyone moves past it. We’ve got 24 hours win, lose or draw so I had 24 hours to be in the dumps. You’ve got to get out of that.”

The Bulldogs are assured a spot in the SEC Championship Game, but they can’t afford another loss if they want to reach the Playoff.

Beating the Wildcats this weekend won’t be easy, as RB Benny Snell Jr. is playing as well as any running back in the country right now. However, that’s what Georgia needs to do to remain among the top teams in the country.
