At this point, we wouldn’t be surprised if Georgia attempts to schedule a home-and-home series with the Dallas Cowboys or the Green Bay Packers.

Following this week’s big scheduling news in college football, Georgia has announced future home-and-home series against Florida State and a new series against Clemson (making for a total of five games now scheduled between UGA and Clemson in the future), it appears the Bulldogs may not be done added marquee games to its future schedules.

According to Seth Emerson of The Athletic, Georgia is in negotiation with Oklahoma for a home-and-home series. This comes after the two schools met in an epic College Football Playoff Rose Bowl game that went into overtime in the 2017 postseason. Georgia may have won that game but it was a back and forth contest that ranked among the best games of the entire season.

Georgia already has non-conference games against Notre Dame (2019), Oregon (2022), Clemson (2024), UCLA (2025), UCLA (2026), FSU (2027), Texas (2028), FSU (2028), Texas (2029) and Clemson (2029, 2030, 2032 and 2033) in addition to the school’s annual season-ending showdown with Georgia Tech for the foreseeable future.

The fact that UGA is willing to add Oklahoma to the list is incredible and hopefully results in increased fan support and revenue for the school. If nothing else, Georgia is showing the rest of college football that it doesn’t have to load up on cupcake games to be successful.
