Georgia improved to 10-0 on Saturday against Mississippi State. On Monday, though, Kirby Smart and his staff received some bad news from the recruiting trail.

Daniel Harris, a 4-star defensive back from Miami, announced on Twitter that he had reopened his recruitment. Harris had been pledged to the Bulldogs since July 1.

“First I would like to thank the University of Georgia, Coach Smart, and Coach Fran Brown for building a great relationship with me and my family,” he wrote. “I also would like to thank all of the Georgia Bulldog fans who have supported me during my recruitment process. However, after countless hours of discussing the best possible opportunities for me at the next level, I have decided to decommit from the University of Georgia and open up my recruitment.”

Prior to Harris’ decommitment, the Bulldogs had the No. 2 recruiting class in the country but should retain that spot without him in the fold.
