The Georgia Bulldogs have an interesting problem on their hands as starting QB Jacob Eason regains health after suffering a knee injury in Week 1.

In Eason’s absence, freshman QB Jake Fromm has played well, guiding the Bulldogs to a 5-0 record. Ahead of a game against Vanderbilt this weekend, coach Kirby Smart has a decision to make.

Smart has said he won’t announce a starter, but according to DawgNation, Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason thinks that’s just gamesmanship, as he believes Fromm will start:

“Listen, we can quit with the coaching dramatics,” Mason said at his press conference.

Smart responded to Mason’s comments during his own Tuesday press conference, brushing them aside:

“Derek Mason’s entitled to his opinion,” Smart said. “Derek Mason’s not at our practices. He’s not privy to our practice film, to my knowledge. So I’m not really concerned with those comments.”

Whoever takes the field as Georgia’s starting quarterback, the Commodores will have their work cut out for them against the Bulldogs.

The game between the two SEC East teams kicks off at 12 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday and can be seen on ESPN.
