Kirby Smart couldn’t emphasize how important it was that no one needs to be the hero against Florida at Thursday’s live radio show.

Smart has not lost to Georgia since the 2020 season and will be looking to make it three wins in a row against the Gators come Saturday.

Following a long bye week, Smart can’t wait to be on the field with his players again. Smart said that one of the things he’s been preaching in preparation for the game is that no one has to be Superman.

Smart expects a close, fourth quarter game with how Florida runs its offense. He noted how crucial it is to be comfortable in close games.

“I’m excited. I wanna see these guys go play again. We’ve talked to the team about how nobody has to be Superman. If you think you do, then you’re probably wrong and you’ll probably be disappointed because we have to go out and play our best game. A complete complimentary game of the three phases. The way you do that is prepare and we’ve prepared well. We’re gonna play a really good opponent and I do think it’ll be a fourth quarter game with the way they play and manage the clock it’s just gonna make things shrink and play tighter. You have to be comfortable playing in close games and we’ve been in some this year.”

Another close game with Florida could be on the horizon for Georgia and it sounds like Smart has prepped his team for that.
