Georgia survived last weekend after going up against a Notre Dame team eager to prove they belong among the elite nationally. While the Bulldogs left the field as 23-17 victors, the win came at a cost.

Bulldog cornerbacks Tyson Campbell and Eric Stokes, offensive lineman Solomon Kindley and defensive end David Marshall all entered Georgia’s bye week nursing injuries following the win over the Fighting Irish.

During his mid-week press conference following the latest Georgia practice, Kirby Smart was asked to share the latest injury update on his squad.

“Eric was not able to go today,” Smart noted during the presser. “We think he is going to be fine but he was a little sore. He jogged yesterday. He ran today but he wasn’t able to practice. Tyson is working out, training, running but not able to practice. Solomon didn’t practice today. He’ll be day-to-day. We think he’ll be fine but he wasn’t able to go today.”

The Georgia coach did not mention Marshall until asked a follow-up on the lineman.

“David’s foot injury has bothered him all year,” Smart continued. “He’s gone, he’s played. I think he played 10 or 11 snaps the other day. It continuously bothers him so we’re trying to help him out with that. We’re leaving him out this week and get him back next week.”

Based on those comments, it would appear the bye week appeared at the perfect time for Georgia. While the team is off this weekend, they travel to Tennessee following the bye.
