Zamir White was the No. 1 running back in the 2018 recruiting class, choosing Georgia over a number of other schools.

However, he tore his ACL during the preseason camp and missed the entire 2018 season. That was especially devastating considering White had torn his other ACL as a senior in high school.

Now, Bulldog fans are eager to see the redshirt freshman back in action, and on Monday, coach Kirby Smart said White should be cleared to play by the time this year’s preseason camp rolls around (via 247Sports):

“He will be past the time to come back (when camp begins),” Smart said. “He will be cleared for that. Obviously, he’s got to be cleared through the protocol, testing, go see the doctors and get cleared. But based on ACL repair, he will be past the time for that.”

Having not played an actual football game in almost two years now, it’ll be interesting to see how fast and strong White is when he’s cleared for contact.

You always hate to see players’ careers derailed by injuries, so hopefully he can return to action and stay healthy this fall.
