Kirk Herbstreit had time in between College GameDay on Saturday night’s game between Colorado and UCLA to weigh in on some SEC action. Specifically Georgia’s dominant start against Florida.

“Best (Georgia) has looked all year,” Herbstreit wrote on social media. “Showed up with energy and ready to roll! Think not having (Brock Bowers) and people anxious to see how they’d do without him has these boys fired up! Just look DIFFERENT today!”

Bowers, the star tight end, of course, is out for several weeks after he suffered an ankle injury 2 weeks ago against Vanderbilt.

Georgia scored an deluge of points as Florida botched a 4th down and inches play, and then Graham Mertz was sacked and fumbled. All told, Georgia rang up 3 touchdowns in 5:49 to take a commanding lead after Florida scored first against Georgia for the first time since 2015.

Perhaps this performance was enough to change Herbstreit’s mind after he didn’t have Georgia ranked No. 1 in his latest College Football Playoff rankings.
