Ever since Justin Fields de-committed from Penn State on June 6, everyone has been waiting to see where the dual-threat quarterback will decide to play next year.

On Friday, the nation’s No. 1 2018 recruit decided between a final five of Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Florida State.

And, after all the hoopla surrounding his decision, the Kennesaw, Georgia, native decided to stay home and will suit up for the Georgia Bulldogs next season.

Fields announced his choice during a pep rally at his high school on Friday morning.

This is obviously another huge addition for the Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart, who has been an incredible recruiter since taking over the Georgia program before the 2016 season.

Fields now joins the nation’s No. 1 running back, 5-star commit Zamir White, as members of Georgia’s 2018 recruiting class.

Prior to Fields’ decision, the Bulldogs had the No. 4 recruiting class in the SEC and the No. 13 class nationally, according to 247Sports. It’s safe to say both those numbers will improve in the wake of Fields’ announcement.
