Former 5-star QB Justin Fields will transfer from Georgia following the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day, but his next destination is still unknown.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are rumored to be the front-runners to land Fields’ services, but nothing is set in stone yet.

On Saturday, current Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins said he’s heard from Fields, and that Fields is waiting to see if Haskins will declare for the 2019 NFL Draft or not (via 247Sports):

“He’s a great kid,” Haskins said. “He hit me up earlier. He’s just waiting to see what I do. I try to be positive and help as many people as I can. You know, Justin is going through something right now.

“I’d say he’s a freak of nature. He’s like 6-3, 230, rocked up. A freak athlete. But he’s a really good person, too. I worked out with him over the summer. You can see how much he wants to learn and how he’s committed himself to being great. I felt like he would’ve have asked me if I didn’t work out with him and just having connections with everybody: Elite 11, going back to high school, going to camps.”

With Oregon QB Justin Herbert returning to school, Haskins is projected to be the first quarterback off the board in the 2019 Draft.

However, he hasn’t made his decision public yet. If he does go pro, perhaps Fields will commit to Ohio State shortly thereafter.
