Sedrick Van Pran may have been committed to Georgia dating back to August but he decided against signing with Kirby Smart’s program during the Early Signing Period following the departure of offensive line coach Sam Pittman to Arkansas.

Since the Early Signing Period came and went, Van Pran has taken official visits to Alabama, Georgia and Florida and made the Bulldogs sweat out his final decision, but in the end, the nation’s top center prospect stuck with his gut and announced he will play college football in Athens.

Van Pran announced his final decision during a ceremony at his Warren Easton High School on National Signing Day.

With Van Pran, who was an Under Armour All-American this year, signing with the Bulldogs, Kirby Smart’s program has now landed two of the top three offensive tackle prospects in the nation along with the top center in the 2020 recruiting cycle — and that comes after losing the program’s offensive line coach to a head coaching position.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Louisiana native is ranked as the nation’s No. 1 center prospect and the No. 59 overall recruit in the nation for the 2020 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Van Pran is also regarded as the No. 3 overall recruit from Louisiana.
