Smael Mondon has already been ruled out for this weekend’s game against Auburn, but the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry may not be the only game he misses.

According to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, Mondon is dealing with a foot issue that could keep him out for multiple weeks. The report notes that Mondon initially injured his foot last season, but that his issues have “flared up” over the past week.

“Smael Mondon had a foot issue that he’s been dealing with since last year,” Zenitz said. “This has now flared up again within the past week, and that’s the reason that he’s out heading into tomorrow against Auburn. And why it seems very much possible that this may not be the only game that he ends up missing.”

Mondon is a huge loss for the Bulldogs this weekend. He was a surprise addition to Georgia’s official availability report earlier this week, and now it seems as though the Bulldogs may be without their star linebacker for multiple games.

Mondon has 17 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 2 pass deflections so far this season.

Kickoff on Saturday in Athens is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
