Travon Walker earns praise from Doug Pederson: ‘He’s such a pro’

Travon Walker was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, going to the Jacksonville Jaguars. That pick surprised some fans and analysts, but the reports out of Jaguars practices have been glowing.
This week, head coach Doug Pederson spoke of Walker’s preparation, saying he already looks like a pro.
Here’s what Pederson had to say about the No. 1 pick, who starred for Georgia’s elite defense in 2021:

“He’s such a pro. He’s so hard on himself,” Pederson said. “He doesn’t want to make a mistake and you just have to tell him, ‘Hey, just calm down, relax, everything’s going to be okay. We have plenty of time before we play a game.’
“But you like players like that who are critical of themselves and their performance because they want to do well, and he’s been one of those guys.”
