Kentucky got a big-time late addition to its 2020 class on National Signing Day. 4-star APB Michael Drennen II out of Dublin Coffman in Ohio publicly pledged to the Wildcats at a signing day ceremony.

Drennen had four hats on the table (Kentucky, USC, Florida and Michigan), but according to Josh Edwards of 247Sports, it was down to Kentucky and USC as the final two. Drennen’s connection to family members in Los Angeles made it close, but the Ohio athlete’s bond to Vince Marrow helped the Wildcats defeat the Trojans.

Described by some as a wide receiver/running back, Drennen measures 5-11, 196 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Drennen is rated the No. 4 Ohio product, No. 6 all-purpose back and No. 246 prospect nationally. Drennen collected 38 scholarship offers in the recruiting process, including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt in addition to the schools mentioned above.

With Drennen on board, Kentucky’s 2020 class increases to 23 commitments (not including transfer QB Joey Gatewood). The class is ranked No. 23 nationally and No. 9 in the SEC on the Composite.
