Ja’Kobi Albert, former Auburn pledge, announces commitment to SEC East program
Auburn’s 2022 recruiting class suffered a blow Wednesday when former commit Ja’Kobi Albert announced that he would be instead signing with Kentucky.
Albert revealed his decision at a Signing Day ceremony at his school.

The 5-11, 175-pound Albert was a standout at both safety and wide receiver at Fairfield Preparatory School in Fairfield, Alabama.
He is rated by the 247Sports Composite as a 3-star prospect and the No. 22 athlete in the 2022 recruiting class. Albert is also rated as the 16th-best prospect in the state of Alabama.
In addition to Auburn and Kentucky, Albert also held offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Georgia Mississippi State, Arkansas and Florida State, among others.
