Kentucky greeted at Auburn hotel with classy gesture remembering Joe B. Hall

The Kentucky Wildcats were greeted by a classy gesture upon arrival in Auburn for Saturday’s big game between No. 12 UK and No. 2 AU.

The video board at the Kentucky team hotel in Auburn included a welcome message remembering late Wildcats head coach Joe B. Hall and all of his accomplishments. Darrell Bird of CatsPause.com shared a photo on Twitter:

Hall passed a week ago at the age of 93. He played for Kentucky in 1948-49 and returned to UK in 1965 as an assistant coach under Adolph Rupp. Hall became the head coach in 1972, a position he held until 1985. Under Hall, the Wildcats reached the Final Four 3 times (1975, ’78, ’84), winning it all in 1978. Hall picked up National Coach of the Year honors the year of his team’s national title. Kentucky won 8 regular-season SEC titles under Hall, and he was a 4-time SEC Coach of the Year, posting a 373-156 record. Hall was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.
