Kentucky football landed a pledge from elite transfer wide receiver Ja’Mori Maclin Wednesday afternoon.

There’s no other way to say it, this is a massive move from the Wildcats. Kentucky is getting one of the best receivers in the portal in Maclin, who has spent the past 2 seasons at North Texas. Maclin spent 2 seasons prior to that in the SEC with Mizzou.

His numbers are incredibly impressive. Maclin totaled 57 receptions for 1,004 yards, 11 touchdowns last season. In 2022 Maclin finished with 16 receptions for 380 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Maclin quoted a post revealing his commitment on X, formerly Twitter:

Maclin stands at 5-11, 183 pounds and is the cousin of former NFL receiver Jeremy Maclin, who played most notably for the Eagles.

The former North Texas receiver took an official visit to Lexington over the weekend and had plans to visit LSU before committing to Kentucky.

Kentucky has done well for itself on offense through the portal. Chip Traynum, who played for Ohio State last season, committed to Kentucky on Tuesday. Brock Vandagriff, a former 5-star QB, transferred in from Georgia and Texas A&M receiver Raymond Cottrell committed on Dec. 9.

Finally, Shemar Porter originally entered the portal but decided to withdraw his name and return to Kentucky a few days later.
