Terry Wilson had one of the most bizarre games you’ll ever see from an SEC quarterback last weekend in Kentucky’s road trip to Missouri.

He came out strong, completing several passes from the opening drive of the game and looked to have shaken off his tough outing against Vanderbilt the week prior. Then he regressed in the middle of the game and was actually benched. After getting back into the game after backup Gunnar Hoak failed to get the offense going, Wilson threw a bad interception on Kentucky’s next to last possession of the game. He followed that up by leading the team down the length of the field and threw the game-winning touchdown on an untimed down as the game clock was already set to double zeros prior to the snap.

It doesn’t get much more bizarre than that.

During his Tuesday media availability, the Kentucky quarterback was asked if he believed the offense performed better and if he liked when the team goes no huddle.

“I like when we go two-minute. It’s fun,” Wilson said.

As for what makes Kentucky successful in those situations, Wilson credited Mark Stoops and the team’s preparation for late-game scenarios such as that final drive.

“At Mizzou, that was just the perfect situation,” Wilson continued. “Coach Stoops does a great job keeping us ready for those situations. It came at the right time and we were prepared.”

Will the success of that game-winning drive bleed over to the Georgia game? Wilson has “no doubt” that it will.

“No doubt. We practice it all the time. It all starts out here at practice and we are all ready for those situations so we definitely have a lot of confidence,” he concluded.

Kentucky has failed to score more than 15 points in any of the team’s previous three games, which likely won’t be enough to get a win at home over Georgia, no matter how good the Wildcats’ defense performers against Jake Fromm and company.

If the Wildcats do what would have been unthinkable in the preseason and clinch a spot in the 2018 SEC Championship Game by the first week of November, it will be because Wilson and company have their best performance of the season this weekend in front of Big Blue Nation.
