Benny Snell Jr. grew up in Ohio and played his high school football in Westerville.

However, as a member of the 2016 class, the 3-star running back was overlooked by his in-state Ohio State Buckeyes.

All Snell has done since is become one of the best running backs in the country, and he admitted on “The Jim Rome Show” on Wednesday that the Ohio State snub still drives him to succeed:

“I’m so glad I’m at Kentucky, and I’m so glad I became the man I am,” he said. “I became bigger than I ever thought I’d be.”

Kentucky is glad to have him, and he’s a legitimate Heisman candidate now. The sky’s the limit for Snell in 2018.

For the record, the running backs signed by Ohio State in 2016 were Demario McCall and Antonio Williams, so they probably wish they had signed Snell instead.
