WATCH: Kentucky coach Mark Stoops delivers impressive first pitch at minor-league game
Usually, when you see first pitches being thrown out, it’s because they went horribly wrong.
In fact, seeing such failures when attempting ceremonial first pitches should give us a better appreciation for what pitchers do for a living, as it certainly isn’t easy.
On Tuesday evening, though, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops stepped to the mound and delivered a strong, impressive first pitch, as you can see in the video below:

Tuesday night was Mark Stoops bobblehead night at the Lexington Legends game, so Stoops was in attendance to participate in the festivities. The Legends are a single-A affiliate in the Kansas City Royals’ farm system.
Based on the result above, Stoops may be asked back again in the near future to see if he can repeat his success with the first pitch.
