So far, so good. RB John Emery Jr. has lived up the hype.

The 5-star prospect has turned a few eyes with his play at LSU, particularly with coach Ed Orgeron.

“First of all, John Emery is everything and more that we thought about in recruiting,” Orgeron told reporters, per 247Sports. “He and Ty were the two best backs in the country, in our opinion. They’re different. He can make you miss. He has tremendous feet, he has tremendous vision. He needs to get a little bit stronger in the weight room, get more comfortable in the offense. There were a lot of times in practice that he broke outside and we didn’t catch him so he had some very explosive runs.”

LSU currently has a plethora of backs, with Orgeron naming Clyde-Edwards Helaire as the starter. In addition, the Tigers have Lanard Fournette and Chris Curry.

With the health of running backs a revolving door, Tiger fans have to be excited on the positive feedback on Emery. You never know when Coach O will look to ride the hot hand in the gauntlet that is the SEC.
