One of the most famous players for the Bengals in the past couple of decades has been Chad Johnson.

Ochocinco was a star wide receiver during his heyday, and he was asked about the Bengals having the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take on Wednesday.

Johnson said he absolutely thinks that Burrow can find success in Cincinnati (via 247Sports):

“I’m very optimistic and I think he’s going to be able to get it done,” Johnson said of Burrow on ESPN’s First Take. “I think the (Bengals) have relinquished some of the power about the picks allowing Zac Taylor to choose the players he needs to continue to build a team that can win. When you think about at LSU, Joe Burrow, what did he have? He had the pieces around him that allowed him to succeed. (Justin) Jefferson, (Ja’Marr) Chase, the other receivers. Now he’s coming to Tyler Boyd, A.J. Green, John Ross. I think they will be fine in the long run.”

Johnson cited Cincy’s receiving corps as a reason Burrow can have success. However, it’s unclear when Burrow will be able to get on the field with those guys.

There’s plenty of talent in the Bengals’ receiving room, but that chemistry needs some time to develop.
