Remember when it was all but certain that Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin would move to Baton Rouge to take the same position with LSU?

On Paul Finebaum’s show on Thursday, the host discussed that topic with guest analyst Matt Moscona.

Moscona said the Kiffin-to-LSU speculation has all but ended because of the Alabama assistant’s popularity on the head coaching market:

That prompted an LSU beat writer to chime in, saying LSU fans should have known Kiffin would be more interested in a head coaching job than an offensive coordinator job:

Kiffin’s future is still up in the air, but there are plenty of options available to him. However, the leader in the clubhouse seems to be that Kiffin will end up in Houston, even though the school has worked to quell those rumors.

If potential head coaching positions are all filled, though, there’s still a chance Kiffin could end up in Baton Rouge next season.
